Chomp Chomp BBQ in Bedok is a must-visit destination for seafood lovers. Explore over 50 delicious dishes that await you here.

Chomp Chomp BBQ: A Seafood Paradise in Bedok

When nighttime hunger strikes, Chomp Chomp BBQ at 85 Fengshan Centre in Bedok North is one of the spots you can’t miss. Opening its doors at 4:30 PM, this place attracts many food enthusiasts eager to indulge in delightful eats.

An Impressive Menu

Chomp Chomp BBQ stands out with a diverse menu featuring over 50 dishes, ranging from grilled seafood to traditional zi char favorites. Each dish is beautifully presented, creating a visual feast as you step into the restaurant. From a distance, the grilling station glows brightly, resembling a vibrant rainbow.

Try Some Delicious Dishes

I decided to sample the Hotplate BBQ Stingray (14 SGD), one of the most popular items. The stingray is served on a banana leaf and presented on a hot plate, accompanied by a tasty sambal. The sweetness of the sambal blends perfectly with the slight tang of calamansi, delivering a fresh flavor. However, the sambal portion that day was a bit smaller than my previous visit, which left me a little disappointed.

Cereal Chicken: An Interesting Choice

The Cereal Chicken (16 SGD) is an exciting twist on traditional dishes. The chicken is coated in a golden cereal crust, complemented by fried chili and curry leaves. While the larger pieces were tender, some smaller bits were a bit chewy, possibly due to an overly thick batter.

Note on Garlic Stir-Fried Vegetables

The Garlic Qing Long Cai (10 SGD) is also a must-try. Stir-fried with bean sprouts and carrots, this dish delivers a delightful flavor from the minced garlic. For garlic lovers, this dish will have you raving about its robust aroma.

Overall Impressions of Chomp Chomp BBQ

The experience at Chomp Chomp BBQ was fairly average. Although each dish had its unique highlights, there was a noticeable lack of refinement in quality. If the restaurant aims to stand out, improvements in food quality are essential. It's not a bad place, but it might be easily forgotten without some innovation.
