Unique Experiences at Outstanding Hotels That Immerse You in Local Landscapes
Recently, I had the chance to explore hotels that are not just places to rest but also offer a genuine experience of immersion in their surrounding landscapes. From their architecture to their cuisine, each hotel reflects the culture and environment of its location in its own unique way.
1. Diriyah, Saudi Arabia - Bab Samhan
Bab Samhan, part of the Luxury Collection Hotel in Diriyah, is famous for its clay brick buildings that keep the interiors cool. It's no coincidence that this place is called the "City of Earth." The stunning blend of ancient architecture and nature allows guests to easily feel the pulse of local history and culture.
Additionally, the Jareed restaurant here serves traditional Najdi dishes, giving you the chance to savor some exquisite local cuisine. While exploring, you can also visit the ancient Salwa Palace, a historical landmark of Arabia.
2. Adare Manor, Ireland
Adare Manor may not be a castle, but it boasts the enchanting allure of Gothic Revival architecture. With 365 windows and 52 chimneys, it symbolizes each day and week of the year. I absolutely love the atmosphere here, particularly the homemade jams made from honey sourced from the estate and wild herbs picked right on site.
When you visit, you can not only enjoy the breathtaking scenery but also participate in falconry classes, whiskey tastings, and indulge in luxurious Michelin-starred meals.
3. Vommuli, Maldives - St Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort
With about 77 villas along the coastline of a once-untouched island, St Regis Maldives Vommuli offers the ultimate relaxation experience. The over-water villas are elegantly designed to harmonize with the surrounding nature, creating a serene atmosphere.
Here, you can use kayaks or stand-up paddleboards to explore the coral reefs and enjoy fresh seafood at the beachfront restaurants.

4. Borneo Rainforest Lodge, Malaysia
Located in Sabah, Borneo Rainforest Lodge makes you feel like you’re living deep within the jungle. From your lodge, the sounds of the tropical forest and the presence of orangutans will keep you captivated. This is one of the places with the highest biodiversity in the world.
Try out the outdoor classes and explore the beautiful surrounding forest.
5. Gora Kadan, Japan
Gora Kadan, built on the site of a former royal summer palace, offers a true sense of relaxation with its unique design made from ancient wood and volcanic stone. From private onsen baths to meals prepared with pure water sourced from Mount Fuji, everything here is simply wonderful.
6. Parador de León, Spain
Parador de León is housed in a historic building from the 16th century, which was once a monastery and later became a hospital for pilgrims. While the exterior retains its classic charm, the interior has been fully modernized, blending contemporary comfort with historical details.
7. The Oberoi Amarvilas, India
Located not far from the Taj Mahal, The Oberoi Amarvilas offers a luxurious lifestyle with intricately decorated details. Handwoven carpets, teak wood floors, and mosaic art showcase the beauty of Mughal culture, making it hard to take your eyes off this exquisite setting.
8. Al Bustan Palace, Oman
Designed like a palace, Al Bustan Palace exudes luxury and elegance. With a grand domed lobby soaring 38 meters high and intricately carved details, the hotel embodies the craftsmanship of Oman.
9. The Broadmoor, Colorado Springs, USA
The Broadmoor, nestled at the foot of Cheyenne Mountain, is ideal for adventure lovers. You can enjoy zip-lining, hiking, rock climbing, and horseback riding. Plus, don’t miss the chance to take the Pikes Peak Cog Railway for stunning views from the mountain summit.
10. Hotel Das Cataratas, Brazil
Situated within Iguaçu National Park, the only one of its kind in Brazil, this hotel is surrounded by lush tropical rainforest. From here, you can witness the majestic waterfalls, and the sound of rushing water will bring you closer to nature.
With such incredible experiences, it’s hard to choose the best hotel, but each place definitely has its own story and charm—simple yet captivating.
