A Decade of Adventure
Looking back, April 1st of this year marks exactly 12 years since I left my job as a lawyer to embark on a journey of travel. Every year, I take a moment to reflect on my feelings and work situation. In the past, I would celebrate with a small gathering of friends—enjoying bun cha in Saigon or mezcal and quesadillas in Oaxaca. But this year is different; on April 1st, I found myself traveling from Florida back to Montreal amidst the pandemic, focusing on getting home safely while being mindful of my health.
Struggles with Health
My health issues, particularly the CSF leak, have been persistent. Each day, I strive to find inspiration through connections with others, even though the feeling of isolation can sometimes be overwhelming. When I look back at Legal Nomads, I realize that the image of the smiling girl on a motorbike feels like a distant memory.

Letting Go of Constraints
I have a deep love for writing, but my health has not allowed me to pursue it fully. There’s something magical about crafting each line, yet I must face the reality that it often exacerbates my condition. As a result, I’ve made the tough decision to step back from certain projects to focus more on community engagement.
Upcoming Projects
I had plans to create a storytelling course, but I simply don’t have the energy. Instead, I’m collaborating with trusted individuals to carry out projects on my behalf. For example, Lola Akinmade Åkerström is developing a captivating storytelling course, and Mike is working on a writing course for bloggers. They’re creating valuable courses that I feel compelled to share.
A New Direction for Legal Nomads
Legal Nomads is in need of a fresh perspective. Despite undergoing several transformations, I recognize the necessity to revitalize it in line with my current circumstances. This will take time, but I believe that Legal Nomads will emerge with a clearer path forward.
