American Airlines has teamed up with Lavazza to enhance the coffee experience for its passengers, offering Lavazza coffee on all flights and in its lounges.
Lavazza Coffee: A New Milestone for American Airlines
In October 2025, American Airlines announced exciting news for coffee enthusiasts. The airline has finalized a partnership with the renowned coffee brand Lavazza, promising a better coffee experience for passengers both in-flight and in lounges. This marks the first time American Airlines will provide a consistent coffee experience both on the ground and in the air.
About Lavazza
Founded in 1895, Lavazza is a family-owned Italian brand known for its commitment to delivering exceptional coffee experiences, showcasing a heritage of sophistication, passion, and creativity. Over the past 130 years, Lavazza has been at the forefront of coffee processing, blending Italian tradition with modern techniques to create premium, rich, and balanced coffees loved worldwide.
Coffee Experience on American Airlines
Thanks to this collaboration, Lavazza coffee will be served in all cabin classes on flights as well as in the Admirals Clubs and Flagship Lounges. Heather Garboden, American Airlines' Director of Customer Experience, stated: "At American, we always focus on every aspect of the customer experience, and a quality cup of coffee is an important part of that journey."
Comparing Coffee Across Airlines
American Airlines isn't the only airline paying attention to coffee. Delta Airlines serves Starbucks coffee, while United Airlines opts for Illy. The partnership with Lavazza shows that American Airlines is striving to enhance the experience for its passengers.

Personal Thoughts on In-Flight Coffee
As a coffee lover, Lavazza is one of my favorite brands. If American Airlines were to partner with a coffee brand, this is the ideal scenario. In-flight coffee can be affected by various factors such as water quality, brewing equipment, and altitude. However, this partnership elevates the overall value of the passenger experience.
Room for Improvement in Coffee Offerings
Although promising, there is currently no information indicating that American Airlines will serve barista-style coffee in their lounges. If they do, it would be a significant plus for the airline. Moreover, many passengers are still hoping for the introduction of cold brew coffee to enhance their in-flight coffee experience.
Helpful Information for Vietnamese Travelers
For passengers traveling from Vietnam, note that American Airlines frequently operates flights from Hanoi (HAN) and Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) to various destinations in the United States. Ticket prices typically range from 15 to 25 million VND, depending on the time and booking conditions. Currently, passengers do not require a visa for layovers in the U.S., but a visa is needed for flights to the U.S. Enjoying Lavazza coffee on board is definitely something to look forward to on your journey.
While in-flight coffee still retains the flavor of “airplane coffee,” American Airlines serving Lavazza shows that the airline is investing in the passenger experience. Let’s look forward to valuable improvements in the near future!
