Whenever I think of Qantas, I immediately recall the outstanding service quality they provide. Especially in first class, the spacious seating and attentive staff make all the difference. Truly, there are experiences you can only find at 30,000 feet.

It’s worth noting that while the service is fantastic, Qantas could soon upgrade some aspects of their service process to stay competitive. Who doesn’t love a little innovation?

Ticket Prices and Booking

I had been monitoring Qantas first-class ticket prices for quite some time. Flights from Los Angeles to Melbourne can vary greatly, with direct tickets sometimes reaching nearly $15,000. Unbelievable!

Fortunately, I had some reward points saved up. I redeemed 110,000 AAdvantage miles for my first-class ticket, along with a small amount of taxes. This way, instead of shelling out a fortune, I could enjoy a luxurious flight without worrying too much about costs.

Check-In and Airport Experience

On the day of my flight, I arrived at the airport about three hours before departure. At the first-class check-in desk, it took me less than two minutes to complete the process. Everything was quick and seamless.

Qantas has a dedicated first-class counter at LAX, and I enjoyed priority services like expedited check-in, along with three pieces of luggage, each weighing up to 32 kg. There’s nothing quite like being a first-class passenger!

Relaxing in the Lounge

After check-in, I quickly made my way to the Qantas First Lounge. This lounge genuinely impressed me with its excellent services. I savored a glass of Lallier Reflexion R.021 champagne and indulged in their famous fried squid, which was simply irresistible.

The lounge offers a variety of delicious dishes, from seafood to local specialties, all prepared with care and bursting with flavor. I regretted not being able to stay longer to try all the offerings.

An Experience-Filled Flight

Stepping onto the plane was exhilarating. Qantas utilized an Airbus A380 for this flight, and the first-class cabin was quite spacious, featuring only 14 seats arranged in a 1-1-1 configuration. I chose seat 2F, also known as the “Harry Potter seat” because it’s located under the stairs.

The seat was incredibly comfortable, reclining into a flat bed that allowed me to stretch out and relax. Even though it was close to the galley, there was no annoying noise or disruptive light, which was fantastic.

In-Flight Service Review

The in-flight service was truly outstanding. The flight attendants were attentive and professional, making me feel more like I was in a luxury hotel rather than on an airplane. The food and wine were exquisite, making it hard for me to leave my seat.

I had a wonderful time on this flight. Everything, from the food to the service, was perfect and made me feel like I was on a completely different flight compared to my previous experiences.

Areas for Improvement

While everything was fantastic, there are a few areas where Qantas could improve. The seating needs an upgrade to keep up with other airlines. Additionally, the lack of Wi-Fi on the plane is inconvenient for many passengers.

The service quality is impressive, but if Qantas wants to maintain its standing in customers' hearts, they should pay more attention to these minor details.

Flight Conclusion

After 15 hours in the air, I finally landed in Melbourne. Although I was tired, reflecting on the experience made me feel it was worth every penny. From the service to the ambiance, everything contributed to an unforgettable flight.

Looking back, this is an experience I would love to try again in the future, perhaps on my next trip to Australia or elsewhere. There’s nothing better than enjoying first class like this.
