A hilarious incident on a Delta flight where a drunken passenger created chaos and was ejected from the plane. An interesting comparison to the more relaxed atmosphere on Spirit Airlines, where passengers freely party in the air.
Flight Full of Trouble
Yesterday, I heard a rather amusing story about a Delta flight where a passenger exhibited some outrageous behavior. A man had been at the airport bar for a staggering 11 hours before boarding the plane, where he proceeded to disrupt the sleep of other passengers. He even dared to wake someone up by gently tapping their head and shouting that this was a 'party flight'!
It sounds funny, but at the time, nobody was laughing. The woman sitting next to him recounted how he even took out his phone to take a selfie with her, claiming it was to “commemorate his in-flight companion.” Unbelievable!
Over-the-Top Behavior
Besides annoying other passengers, the man also yanked the headphones off a girl sitting in front of him, insisting she couldn’t join the party if she was still listening to music. It didn’t take long before a flight attendant had to step in and escort him off the plane.
He reacted dramatically, declaring that if he was kicked off this flight, he would never fly Delta again. The flight attendant calmly replied that if he didn’t get up on his own, he wouldn’t be allowed to fly Delta in the future. In the end, he left but tried to rally other passengers to exit the plane with him. To his surprise, no one supported him!
Spirit Airlines Experience
Hearing this story, I couldn’t help but compare it to the experiences of passengers flying Spirit Airlines. It seems that on Spirit, such bizarre occurrences are quite normal. A passenger can bring vodka on board, and not just sip it privately, but share it with others as well.

Interestingly, one passenger decided that this flight would be their chance to “turn up,” and immediately began drinking with fellow travelers. This girl didn’t hesitate to buy soda for her new friend because there are no complimentary drinks on Spirit. The passengers were quite at ease about sharing drinks, which made the flight much more entertaining.
My Own Spirit Experience
I also had a rather interesting experience on a Spirit flight. There wasn’t any particular reason; I simply had no other choice. I booked a window seat in the exit row, hoping for a bit more space.
The person next to me was very cheerful and proudly claimed to be an “Eagle Scout,” ready to assist in case of an emergency. But it seemed he hadn’t forgotten to bring his own alcohol. As soon as the plane took off, he offered me a small bottle of vodka and even brought a large bag of vodka with him!
A Curious Conclusion
What surprised me was how many passengers on Spirit were unashamed to drink while flying. Their risk assessment is quite different from that of Delta passengers. While I could bring alcohol on board, drugs were a whole different story. In some places, alcohol is controlled, but you can’t bring drugs.
In fact, at airports in Colorado, there are “exemption bins” where passengers can dispose of legal items that still violate federal law. Sounds pretty convenient!
Ultimately, each airline offers a different experience, and I can’t say for sure that flying Spirit won’t add some excitement to my future travels. Who knows, I might just give it another shot next time!
