Our adventure began at Woodlands station, where we completed our immigration procedures before boarding the train. From the moment we stepped onto the platform, everything was seamless, thanks to the attentive team at Eastern & Oriental Express.

Preparing for Your Journey

The Belmond team truly thinks of every detail. A month before our trip, they reached out to help us schedule activities and spa services on board. Getting on the train was also a breeze with their hotel-to-station shuttle service.

While it is a bit pricey, this luxurious experience is absolutely worth it. Just 25 minutes from downtown Singapore, we arrived at the station, warmly welcomed by the enthusiastic staff.

Experience Lavish Sleeping Quarters

The train features three types of cabins: Pullman Cabin, State Cabin, and Presidential Suite, each with its own unique charm. We opted for the State Cabin, which transforms from a single bed into a sofa during the day. Notably, each cabin is attended by a personal steward, taking care of everything from bed-making to meal service.

Though the cabin is compact as expected, the space feels very cozy. They even store your larger luggage in a separate compartment, allowing you to fully enjoy the smaller space of your cabin.

Enjoying the Common Areas on Board

Before the train departs, passengers have about an hour to familiarize themselves with the train's layout. Right next to our cabin was the Observation Car, featuring a cocktail bar and lounge, the perfect spot to unwind and take in the views.

Each day, we dined at the train's two restaurants: Malaya and Adisorn. Sharing a table with other passengers offered a wonderful opportunity to make new friends. But don’t worry, if you prefer privacy, there are tables available for two.

The Piano Car and Luxurious Dior Spa

The Piano Car is an ideal venue for live music performances and an array of drinks. Many nights, we lingered there until early morning just to soak in the melodies.

The Dior Spa on board offers a unique experience. I treated myself to a massage after a long day of exploring Langkawi. Just imagine relaxing in a spa while the train glides through the beautiful Malaysian scenery!

Choosing the Right Journey
