From Lawyer to Travel Blogger: A Life Transformed

Once upon a time, I was a lawyer, working a conventional job with a predictable salary each year. But then I made the bold decision to leave it all behind and set off to explore the world. At first, I felt a bit lost, unsure of what the future held. But honestly, this adventure has led me to unimaginable experiences.

Initially, I started by sharing a few travel stories, but gradually, readers began to ask more specific questions. Fellow lawyers wondered how to know when to quit their jobs, so I created a series of posts sharing my insights. Those with Celiac disease sought advice on finding safe food while traveling, which inspired me to create translation cards to help them. Even when someone invited me out for soup, I started organizing food tours and selling artwork inspired by those countries.

Life Changes Due to Health Challenges

In 2017, my life took a dramatic turn when I faced a serious health issue that forced me to live very differently. I spent most of my time in bed, and if I was lucky, I could venture outside a little in my apartment. My work was no longer measured by hours spent at a desk, but rather by each minute I could stand up. Every step I took required careful planning.

Nevertheless, with the aid of technology and a supportive community, I felt my life was not confined. I even became involved in significant projects and took on a leadership role in an organization that supports patients with Spinal CSF Leak.

2025: Challenges and Achievements

The year 2025 started off on a difficult note. I fell in the bathroom, and my health took a nosedive. The following months were spent lying in bed, hoping for improvement. At the same time, my dad and stepmom were hospitalized, and I had to manage many things from afar.

However, looking back at 2025, I accomplished a lot from my sickbed. One of those achievements was publishing my monthly newsletter "Curious About Everything." Since leaving my law career in 2008, I’ve had followers who are interested in what I share. This newsletter is a product of my passion for sharing and discovering the world together.

I also sold my 25,000th Celiac translation card and added three new languages. These cards help people travel safely, even though I can no longer explore the world on my own. What began as a personal necessity during my trip to Japan has now evolved into 21 different languages, serving travelers, doctors, and hospitals alike.
