Our EasyJet A320 flight from Copenhagen to Basel was noisy yet punctual. Here’s what Vietnamese travelers should know when choosing this airline.

Overview of the EasyJet A320 Flight

Our flight from Copenhagen to Basel-Mulhouse with EasyJet took place on Christmas Day. While the journey itself was nothing extraordinary, the noise and discomfort on board certainly left an impression.

Ticket Prices and Flight Information

My family booked tickets for four people, totaling 4,588 DKK, which is about 723 USD, averaging around 181 USD per person. This is quite a high price for EasyJet, especially for a 'basic' fare that does not include carry-on luggage. As a result, we had to pack light in accordance with the airline's restrictions.

Kastrup Airport and Gate Access

Kastrup Airport is not my favorite among European airports. The pathway to the EasyJet gate resembles a warehouse more than a modern terminal. Additionally, an EasyJet staff member was stationed at the gate entrance to conduct thorough checks of passengers' carry-on luggage, which made me feel a bit uneasy.

Flight Details

EasyJet flight 1264 departed at 5:10 PM and had a flight time of approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes. We were seated in row 10, which offered limited legroom. Although the stairs leading up to the plane were somewhat inconvenient, boarding and disembarking were quick processes.

First Impressions of the Cabin

Despite the lack of food and beverage service, the journey was quite entertaining with many children and families aboard. The cries and screams of little ones made the cabin rather loud, which could be bothersome for those who prefer a quieter atmosphere.

Weather in Basel

Upon arrival in Basel, the temperature was around 1ºC, and the light was fading by 4:55 PM. Basel Airport serves as a junction between France and Switzerland, allowing passengers to choose their destination. We opted to head into France, where our family awaited us for a Christmas dinner at home.

Final Thoughts

Although there was nothing particularly special about the flight, EasyJet did get us to our destination on time — a nice Christmas gift, indeed. Among low-cost airlines, I still prefer EasyJet over Ryanair or Wizzair.

Useful Information for Vietnamese Travelers

If you plan to fly with EasyJet from Vietnam, keep the following points in mind:

  • Visa: Vietnamese travelers need a Schengen visa to enter France or Switzerland.
  • Flight Connections: There are no direct flights from Vietnam to Basel. You can fly to major cities like Frankfurt or Amsterdam and then connect to Basel.
  • Ticket Prices: Round-trip fares from Vietnam to Europe usually range from 12 million to 20 million VND.
  • Currency: In Switzerland, the currency used is the Swiss Franc (CHF), with an exchange rate of approximately 24,000 VND per CHF.
  • Travel Season: Winter from December to February is a wonderful time for holiday festivities, while summer from June to August is great for nature exploration.

I hope these insights will help you have an enjoyable experience traveling to Europe.
