Delta has just launched a new suite design, promising an unprecedented level of luxury in the skies. Let’s explore these exciting enhancements!
Delta Introduces New Suite Design
Over a decade ago, Delta Air Lines made waves in the U.S. aviation market with the introduction of luxurious private suites. This Atlanta-based airline continues to elevate the flying experience for its passengers.
With flat beds and sliding privacy doors, Delta One has set a new standard for business class travel. Now, as competitors ramp up their offerings, Delta is not resting on its laurels. Last Monday, the airline announced that the next-generation Delta One product will debut next year on its latest aircraft: the Airbus A350-1000.
New Aircraft Arriving in 2027
The Airbus A350-1000 is expected to enter service in 2027, making it Delta's most advanced aircraft to date. The new Delta One will feature an updated design and amenities, boasting 53 suites, which is a 33% increase from the current aircraft.
The A350-1000 will also be equipped with the latest technology, including the rear-seat screens that the airline has been promoting for the past year. For loyal Delta passengers, news of this premium aircraft is indeed one of the biggest announcements yet.
Details of the New Cabin
The A350-1000 will house 101 premium seats in the business and premium economy cabins. Aviation enthusiasts might notice that this is two more seats than United Airlines offers on their new Boeing 787-9.

The cabin layout will be as follows:
- Delta One: 53 suites
- Delta Premium Select: 48 reclining seats
- Delta Comfort: 51 seats
- Economy: 152 seats
Breakthrough in Delta One Design
This marks the first time Delta has introduced new seats for the Delta One product line, designed by the seasoned seat manufacturer Thompson Aero Seating from Northern Ireland. The seats will measure 83 inches in length, three inches longer than the current design, and will feature thicker cushioning for added comfort.
Notable new features include glass hooks, shoe storage compartments, bedside phone trays, and improved suite lighting. The rear-seat screens will be 24 inches, the largest ever offered by Delta.
Upgrades for Older A330s
Nothing quite compares to the smell of a “new plane,” but frequent flyers with Delta will be excited to hear that the airline is upgrading some of its older, long-haul aircraft.
Starting in September, Delta will refresh the cabins of 42 Airbus A330-200 and -300 aircraft. Delta is committed to equipping these A330s with true Delta One suites, incorporating some of the new features planned for the A350, such as thicker cushions and more advanced technology.
Where Will the New Aircraft Fly?
So where will these new A350-1000s be flying? This aircraft boasts a maximum range of up to 8,700 nautical miles, promising service to far-flung destinations like India and Riyadh. While Delta has not yet announced direct flights to India, the airline has confirmed plans to begin flights to Riyadh later this year.
Conclusion
These updates signify a major step forward for Delta in enhancing the flying experience for passengers. The airline is not only focused on developing new products but also on caring for its older aircraft, ensuring the best possible flying experience for all travelers.
