Must-See Attractions
Just 5 km north of Shangri-La, the Songzanlin Monastery stands out with its magnificent architecture, often referred to as the "Little Potala Palace." Open from 7:40 AM to 6:30 PM, you'll want to set aside at least 1.5 to 2 hours to wander around and take in the beauty of this site. A friendly reminder: photography is not allowed inside the prayer halls.
For a perfect day trip, head to Potatso National Park, located 22 km from town. This park features stunning alpine lakes, lush forests, and picturesque meadows. Don't miss the highlight, Shudu Lake, surrounded by a wooden boardwalk, perfect for leisurely strolls and scenic views. You can either walk or take a boat to fully appreciate the scenery.
