If you're planning a trip to Vietnam, applying for an e-visa can make your experience much smoother. Here’s a detailed guide to help you navigate the process effortlessly.
Step 1: Upload Your Photo and Biometric Passport
First off, you’ll need to upload a portrait photo and a biometric passport image. The system will automatically extract your personal details from your passport. Be sure to double-check everything and make any necessary corrections.
Note: Your portrait photo should be 4x6 cm, in JPG or JPEG format, and under 2MB in size. The photo needs to be taken straight on, without hats or glasses, in formal attire, against a white background.
Step 2: Verification and Information Check
The system will automatically verify your photo and passport information. If everything checks out, simply fill in any remaining required details and review them before confirming.
If your passport photo is invalid, you won't be able to proceed with your application.

Step 3: Confirm Your Submitted Information
Carefully review the information you’ve entered, including both mandatory and optional fields. Once you input the verification code, you can move forward.

Important Reminders
The processing time for an e-visa typically takes around 3 working days. However, delays can occur due to high application volumes, holidays, or errors in submissions.
To avoid any hassle and to allow ample time for corrections, it’s advisable to submit your application at least 3 months prior to your trip. Note that applications are not processed on weekends or holidays at Vietnamese offices.
Passport and Visa Validity: Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry and should have at least two blank pages for the visa stamp. E-visas cannot be extended; if you wish to stay longer, you’ll need to exit and apply for a new visa.
