Hotel Du Louvre Paris – A Romantic Retreat in the Heart of the City of Light
During my exciting trip to Bangkok, I decided to stop in Paris for a few nights. Among my hotel choices, I opted for Hotel Du Louvre, a member of the Unbound Collection by Hyatt. To be honest, this choice did not disappoint me at all.
Booking at Hotel Du Louvre
I used points from the World of Hyatt rewards program to book my stay at Hotel Du Louvre. This hotel is a category 7 property, and my reward points amounted to 35,000. In my opinion, the value of these points is about 1.5 cents each, meaning I could enjoy a night here for around $525.
If you prefer to pay in cash, the rate is approximately 600 Euros (which is significantly more expensive than using points). I recommend booking through the Hyatt Prive program if you’re paying cash, as you’ll receive perks like room upgrades and hotel credits.
Location and History of the Hotel
Hotel Du Louvre is situated in a prime location, right between the Louvre Museum and the Opéra Garnier. I love the feeling of wandering around Paris, so location isn’t the most crucial factor for me.
The hotel was first established in 1855 under the orders of Napoleon III, marking it as the first luxury hotel in Paris. It has been around for about 140 years, which is quite fascinating.
Atmosphere and Services in the Hotel Lobby
As soon as I stepped into the hotel lobby, I was enveloped by a classic ambiance. The lobby is spacious with many historical design elements. Although there is a slight limitation on seating, you can find a relaxing area on the upper floors.

I arrived for check-in around mid-afternoon, and within an hour, my room was ready. The staff thanked me for being a Gold member of World of Hyatt and informed me that I had been upgraded to a suite, complete with complimentary breakfast.
Accommodations at Hotel Du Louvre
I was assigned room 150, located on the first floor. The building has an elegant, vintage design with impressively high ceilings. I was quite pleased with the brightness from the windows, but the furnishings felt somewhat mismatched.
My room featured a living area with a sofa and dining table. However, one downside was that the furniture looked a bit outdated and didn’t have the luxurious feel that the hotel’s website suggested.
Bedroom and Bathroom Details
The bedroom contained a king-size bed, but I didn’t find it particularly comfortable. The mattress was a bit firm, and the pillows weren’t as plush as I had hoped. Nonetheless, I still preferred the bed at SAX Paris.
The main bathroom was adjacent to the bedroom, featuring a single vanity and a combination of a shower and bathtub. I really enjoyed the cleansing products from CODAGE Paris, but the bathroom felt somewhat small.
Overall Experience
Overall, the atmosphere at Hotel Du Louvre truly exudes a classic and elegant charm. While a few minor details could be improved, the beauty and historical value of this place are undeniable.
As I left the hotel, I felt very satisfied with my choice, as the combination of location and service here was excellent. I hope to have the opportunity to return to Paris to experience the ambiance at Hotel Du Louvre once more.
Ultimately, when it comes to Paris, nothing beats strolling through the shimmering streets, and Hotel Du Louvre added an extra layer of enjoyment to my trip.
