Explore Central Steak Restaurant, a budget-friendly yet quality dining spot in Kuala Lumpur, where you can enjoy Hokkien noodles, crispy fried chicken, and a variety of other mouthwatering dishes.

Introducing Central Steak Restaurant

Located next to KLCC, Central Steak Restaurant is the perfect choice for your lunch break. Nestled in Wisma Central, this eatery buzzes with customers during lunchtime. It’s easy to spot if you pay attention to the office workers around — they’re the ones leading you to the best budget-friendly dining options in the area.

To reach Central Steak, simply head up the stairs to the first floor, where the restaurant is tucked between a clothing store and a hair salon. I arrived just before the lunch rush and managed to find a cozy spot. A friendly staff member guided me through the menu options.

Exploring the Special Menu

The menu at Central Steak is quite diverse, featuring dishes like Hokkien noodles, fried rice, lunch sets, and crispy fried chicken. I opted for the Black Hokkien Mee (RM10), and I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion that arrived. Despite thinking the serving would be smaller due to the restaurant's central location, the reality was quite the opposite.

The noodles were chewy and delicious, but I had to mix them well to ensure they soaked up the rich sauce. This dish was prepared with tender chicken pieces, fish cake, kailan vegetables, and fresh shrimp, complemented by a side of sambal. The sweet and savory flavors of the Hokkien sauce truly satisfied my taste buds.

A Rich Menu with Fresh Ingredients

In addition to the noodles, you can also try the Fried Rice with Mixed Ingredients (RM18.60). Interestingly, my friend requested no vegetables in the fried rice, which I found a bit unfortunate. However, the fried rice was still delightful, boasting a rich flavor with a hint of saltiness, likely due to the perfect blend of oyster sauce and soy sauce.

The fried chicken was freshly prepared, exuding an irresistible aroma. When we cut into it, steam rose up enticingly. The meat inside was incredibly tender, wrapped in a crispy golden crust. While I’m not sure exactly what spices were used, the chicken was definitely the highlight of the meal. We both couldn’t resist and enjoyed every bite.

Reasons to Visit Central Steak

Central Steak Restaurant can be considered a gem in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. With affordable prices and generous portions, it’s a place I’m sure to return to. If you plan to visit, try to avoid peak hours, as it can get quite crowded, and there’s often only one staff member handling orders.

Useful Information for Vietnamese Travelers

When visiting Kuala Lumpur, Vietnamese tourists do not need a visa for stays under 30 days. You can fly directly from Hanoi (HAN) or Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) to Kuala Lumpur with various airlines like Vietnam Airlines, AirAsia, or VietJet, with ticket prices ranging from approximately 1,500,000 VND to 3,000,000 VND.

Additionally, it’s advisable to prepare local currency, Malaysian Ringgit (MYR), for payments for food and services. 1 Ringgit is about 5,200 VND, so you might consider budgeting for meals ranging from 50,000 VND to 200,000 VND per dish.

In conclusion, if you’re looking for a tasty and affordable dining option in Kuala Lumpur, be sure to check out Central Steak Restaurant at Wisma Central. You won’t regret this choice!
