Uncover the delightful flavors of Jasmine Pork Rib Prawn Noodle at Tekka Centre in Singapore, a unique culinary experience you won't want to miss.

Introduction to Jasmine Pork Rib Prawn Noodle

During my four years at Sethlui, Tekka Centre has become one of my favorite food hubs. It's not just for the thosai; it's about discovering the Jasmine Pork Rib Prawn Noodle, a lesser-known noodle spot that certainly deserves a try!

Upon arrival, I quickly joined the queue, despite the pressure from eager diners around me. The menu is primarily focused on prawn noodles with various options, making it tough to choose. I asked a friendly lady behind me if they served dry noodles, and she enthusiastically confirmed they do.

The Dish at Jasmine Pork Rib Prawn Noodle

When my Prawn Noodle (S$4, approximately 64,000 VND) arrived, I was impressed by its presentation. The yellow noodles, shrimp, and pork were neatly arranged, garnished with some bean sprouts for an appealing touch. As I mixed everything together, the flavors were just right—not bland, yet not overwhelmingly strong.

The subtle seasoning added a gentle spiciness that enhanced the noodle's flavor. Although I was initially concerned about the alkaline taste of the yellow noodles, I was relieved to find there were no issues. Each piece of pork was tender and pleasant, while the shrimp was sweet and firm, showcasing the freshness of the seafood.

The accompanying broth had a sweetness from the shrimp shells, but I felt it could be even better with a bit more flavor.

Exploring Other Dishes

I also tried the Prawn Noodle with pork intestines (S$5, approximately 80,000 VND). The kway teow noodles had a smoother texture, but they overshadowed the natural sweetness of the broth. Luckily, I remedied this by dipping into chili sauce, which added a richer taste.

The pork intestines were clean and crispy, adding an interesting crunch to the dish. Together with the water spinach and bean sprouts, these ingredients created a nice balance, though I wished for a bit more greens to complete the meal.

Special Pork Ribs Dish

Finally, I opted for the pork rib noodle (S$6, approximately 96,000 VND) with dry vermicelli. When it arrived, three pieces of pork rib were served separately alongside a standout bowl of broth. On my first taste, the broth surprised me with its deliciousness, thanks to the sweet and rich flavor from the ribs.

The meat on the bones truly melted in my mouth, providing an incredible sensation. The dry vermicelli, while simple, perfectly complemented the flavorful pork ribs.

Final Thoughts

After enjoying the meal, I checked Google Reviews and found that many diners also preferred the dry option over the soup. While there are debates about whether this spot can rival the more famous ones, I am certain that Jasmine Pork Rib Prawn Noodle offers a worthwhile experience for noodle enthusiasts.

If you find yourself in Singapore, be sure to stop by Tekka Centre to try this enticing prawn noodle dish!
