Introducing Celebrity Cruises
Celebrity Cruises is gearing up for the new year with a host of enticing itineraries, including the debut of the new Celebrity Xcel ship in the Mediterranean. Additionally, the cruise line is returning to two continents after a brief hiatus and extending stays at several ports. Notably, Celebrity will embark on a nearly four-month dual hemisphere adventure across the Pacific.
The shifting preferences of travelers are calling for richer experiences at ports, alongside the upcoming solar eclipse, which has shaped this year's itineraries. Having cruised multiple times with Celebrity, I am genuinely excited about this ambitious schedule.
The Inaugural Voyage of Celebrity Xcel in the Mediterranean
The Celebrity Xcel launched last fall in the Caribbean, departing from Fort Lauderdale, and is now set to begin voyages from Barcelona or Athens. Over 7 to 11 nights, the ship will visit stunning ports in the Greek islands and along the coastlines of France, Italy, Portugal, and Spain.
A highlight of this season will be an overnight stop in Madeira. Guests will have ample time to savor the famous Madeira wine, visit Cristiano Ronaldo's museum, or enjoy the vibrant nightlife on the island. This itinerary will run from now until mid-October.
Exploring Iceland and the Solar Eclipse
This year, Celebrity will extend its journeys to the Arctic with seven cruises to Iceland, nearly doubling last year's offerings. The Celebrity Silhouette will sail from Reykjavik, taking travelers to breathtaking natural landscapes featuring volcanoes, hot springs, and majestic waterfalls.
An exciting trip this summer is scheduled for August 8, designed to optimize solar eclipse viewing on August 12, where guests will have the chance to witness a spectacular sky from the ocean.

Return to South America and Antarctica
After a year-long pause, Celebrity will return to South America and Antarctica this winter aboard the Celebrity Equinox, visiting popular cities like Buenos Aires and Montevideo. The journey will pass through famous Antarctic destinations, where guests can admire stunning icebergs and rich wildlife.
This itinerary is beloved for offering the amenities of a large ship while still providing the wonders of Antarctica. However, please note that this trip will be a scenic cruise without port calls.
Celebrities First Grand Voyage
Celebrity will also launch its first Grand Voyage this fall, starting from Alaska on September 13 and lasting 110 nights with 55 stops across Southeast Asia. The Celebrity Solstice has been enhanced with new amenities, including upgraded accommodations and more entertainment areas.
A unique aspect of this journey is the connection between tropical destinations like Fiji and Polynesia, along with bustling cities such as Auckland, Sydney, and Singapore. This will be an incredible trip where travelers only need to unpack once while exploring many different places.
Celebrity's First River Cruise
Celebrity will introduce its first river cruise ship in the summer of 2027, named Celebrity Compass, operating on the Rhine and Danube rivers. This river cruise promises to be just as exciting as ocean cruising. Celebrity Compass will be part of a plan to add 20 river cruise ships to its fleet.
The difference is that Celebrity will include many complimentary excursions at each river port. These excursions will operate nearly year-round, starting in late summer 2027.
