Explore the delicious Korean dish samgyetang at Omma Chicken Soup, crafted by former Michelin chefs in Singapore. Don't miss out on this culinary experience when visiting Bedok!
Introducing Samgyetang in Singapore
If you're in search of a dish that is both delicious and nutritious, look no further than samgyetang — the famous Korean ginseng chicken soup. In Singapore, you can enjoy this delightful dish prepared by former Michelin chefs at the Bedok food district, making it a must-try for Korean cuisine enthusiasts.
Ingredients from Award-Winning Chefs
Omma Chicken Soup is the name of the eatery founded by two chefs who previously worked at a Michelin one-star restaurant. They offer a diverse menu featuring three main options: ginseng chicken soup, spicy noodles, and porridge, each with variations such as ginseng, collagen, and spicy collagen. What sets this place apart is the use of fresh, high-quality ingredients, with prices starting at just 7.80 SGD (around 130,000 VND).
A Cozy and Friendly Atmosphere
The restaurant boasts a warm ambiance with red brick walls, bamboo pendant lights, and soft golden lighting that makes customers feel right at home. This inviting atmosphere explains why there’s often a queue of customers waiting to place their orders. During our visit, we learned that Omma recently opened a new location at Alexandra Village Food Centre just a week ago.
Experience Authentic Samgyetang
We kicked off our meal with the premium option of samgyetang — Ginseng Omma (7.80 SGD). This dish is served with chicken legs, tender meat, and a flavorful broth, perfectly complemented by the essence of ginseng. Each bowl comes with sesame oil, salt and pepper, and kimchi, creating a multi-layered dining experience you won't want to miss. What makes this dish truly special is the inclusion of dried longan, lotus seeds, and goji berries in the broth, resulting in a delightful fusion of flavors.

Special Collagen Spicy Noodles
Next, we tried the Spicy Collagen Noodles (4.90 SGD). This dish features thin noodles topped with shredded chicken, scallions, dried longan, and lotus seeds. While it may look spicy, the broth was milder than expected, but a dash of gochujang could definitely enhance the flavor.
Side Dishes and Overall Impressions
We also ordered a couple of side dishes to enrich our dining experience — Signature Kimchi and Omma Egg, each priced at 1.20 SGD. The kimchi had a balanced tangy and spicy flavor, perfect for cutting through the richness of the main dishes. On days when you're craving something light, Omma Chicken Soup is the ideal choice.
