Not only is it renowned for its art and cultural community, but Hamilton is also blessed with an abundance of stunning waterfalls and beautiful landscapes.

Exploring Historical Landmarks

If you’re a history buff, Hamilton will undoubtedly delight you with its many notable national sites. Start your journey at Dundurn Castle, a magnificent 19th-century mansion that has been meticulously restored. Inside, costumed actors will transport you back in time, allowing you to envision what life was like in that era. Admission is around 16 CAD for adults and 10 CAD for children.

Close to Hamilton International Airport, you’ll find the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, showcasing over 40 military aircraft from World War II. Among its highlights is the Avro Lancaster, one of only two still flying in the world. Admission to the museum is approximately 18 CAD for adults.

Another historical gem is the HMCS Haida, located right on the waters of Hamilton. This is the only remaining Tribal-class destroyer in the world, where you can explore and learn about the lives of the crew during World War II and the Korean War. Tickets are just 4.50 CAD for adults.

The Stunning Nature of Hamilton

Hamilton sits on the Niagara Escarpment, a UNESCO-recognized Biosphere Reserve. With over 100 waterfalls, Hamilton has earned the title of the 'Waterfall Capital of the World.' Among these, Webster Falls and Albion Falls are two must-see stops. Webster Falls is a classic cascade, while Albion Falls stretches across rocky tiers.

Be sure to visit the Spencer Gorge Conservation Area, home to two of the city’s most famous waterfalls: Tews Falls and Webster Falls. The highlight of this area is the hiking trail leading to the summit of Dundas Peak, where you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the Dundas Valley.

Royal Botanical Gardens

No trip to Hamilton is complete without a stop at the Royal Botanical Gardens. As the largest botanical garden in Canada, it spans over 2,400 acres and is famous for having the largest collection of lilacs in the world. Nestled on the slopes of the Niagara Escarpment, it features 77 kilometers of enchanting natural trails.
