Zadar, the ancient city of Croatia, captured my heart the moment I set foot in it. This place boasts not only stunning architecture but also a rich history that spans thousands of years. Strolling through the old town, I felt as though I was traveling through time, from the Roman era to the renowned modern art installations.

As you wander through Zadar's old town, you can truly feel the weight of its 3,000-year history. From the time of the Liburnians, Zadar emerged as a significant Roman city. Be sure to visit St. Donat's Church, a unique structure dating back to the 9th century, and admire the beautiful three-tiered façade of St. Anastasia's Cathedral.

Zadar is also home to some of the most magnificent religious art in Croatia. At the Benedictine Monastery of St. Mary, you can see intricately carved works made from gold, silver, and precious stones dating from the 8th to the 18th centuries. One of the only preserved royal crowns of Croatia is also a noteworthy highlight here.
