Discovering Cozy Italian Vibes in the Heart of London
The area around King’s Cross in London wasn’t always a sought-after destination. Once notorious for drug trafficking and other illegal activities, it has undergone a remarkable transformation into a vibrant and attractive neighborhood. A standout gem in this revitalized area is Casa Tua, an Italian restaurant that has been delighting locals for the past decade and has witnessed this incredible change firsthand.
A Charming and Cozy Space
Just a stone's throw from King’s Cross station, Casa Tua feels like a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. This truly is a neighborhood restaurant where the lively sounds of Italian chatter fill the air, especially on bustling Saturday nights.
With its simple design, soft color palette, and wooden tables, the restaurant is spread across two levels, with larger groups often seated downstairs.
The Soul of Italy
We were warmly welcomed by Giuseppe Miggiano, the visionary behind the original Casa Tua in Camden, which opened in 2013. Hailing from Puglia, Giuseppe brings the essence of Italian family cooking to the menu, featuring high-quality ingredients sourced directly from Italy.
The restaurant serves food all day, from breakfast through dinner. The evening menu is quite extensive, offering a variety of starters, pasta dishes, pizzas, and other main courses. Following the Italian tradition, they encourage sharing, so we decided on four dishes for two to savor together.

The Essence of Italian Cuisine
The first highlight was the Burrata (£15.90), a creamy cheese served with pumpkin puree and a hint of black truffle cream. Everything was incredibly fresh, even though the cheese is imported from Southern Italy. This dish perfectly balances the freshness of the ingredients with bold flavors.
Next up was the Arancini (£14.90), warm and crispy on the outside, filled with Arborio rice, king oyster mushrooms, and truffle. The Gorgonzola and black truffle sauce added an exquisite touch to the Arancini.
The Orecchiette Sausage & Cime Di Rapa (£20.90) is a Puglian specialty, shaped like small ears, making it perfect for scooping up sausage pieces and sauce.
Sweet and Irresistible
Finally, it's hard to resist the homemade Tiramisu (£8.50), crafted fresh each morning with a secret blend of Marsala and Amaretto, served in a beautiful glass cup.
Conclusion
Casa Tua is truly an experience worth having. With its cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and authentic Italian cuisine at reasonable prices, it feels like stepping into an Italian home right in the heart of London. You’re sure to have a memorable dining experience here!
