Maui: A Paradise with Two Luxurious Options

During my last trip to Maui, one of the most famous islands in Hawaii, I found myself torn between two stunning resorts: Montage Kapalua Bay and Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea. Both places are absolutely beautiful, unique, and family-friendly. Unable to make a decision, I took the plunge and stayed three nights at each resort!

Distinct Atmospheres and Feelings

I was truly captivated by Montage Kapalua Bay for its serene and secluded vibe. Located in the tranquil area of Kapalua, the resort offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. With only about 70 rooms, the space feels airy, less crowded, and free from noisy events.

On the other hand, Four Seasons Maui at Wailea presents a classic resort atmosphere that’s a bit more vibrant. Situated in Wailea, it’s easy to access nearby shopping districts and renowned restaurants. You get the feeling of being at the heart of everything while still enjoying a peaceful environment.

Beaches: Snorkeling vs. Gentle Waves

I absolutely loved the beach at Montage for its crystal-clear waters, tranquility, and abundance of sea turtles. However, if you’re interested in activities like surfing, you might prefer the beach at Four Seasons. While the waves are gentle, they’re still fun enough for you and your little ones to splash around.

Culinary Choices: Self-Catering or Diverse Dining

Montage is perfectly designed for those who enjoy cooking for themselves. Each room is equipped with a full kitchen, complete with a large refrigerator, oven, and even a wine cooler. However, the on-site dining options are somewhat limited. In contrast, Four Seasons offers a variety of exciting restaurant choices right on the property, although you won’t have the option to cook your own meals here.

Accommodations and Amenities

Montage is a fantastic choice for larger groups, offering apartments with three to four bedrooms, while Four Seasons caters to those who appreciate the convenience of suites equipped with amenities like pull-out sofas and private balconies.

Service and Pools

The pool at Montage is designed for relaxation and privacy, while Four Seasons provides a traditional experience with incredibly comfortable amenities and attentive service. Both resorts excel in service, but Four Seasons truly stands out for its smoothness and attention to detail in every aspect.
