If you haven't heard of Nam Định, don't worry—you're not alone! But if you're someone who loves discovering new and less crowded destinations, Nam Định is definitely worth considering. Located in the Red River Delta, this province is gradually emerging as a premier spot for eco-tourism and relaxation. Just about 84 km from Hanoi, you can reach it in under 1.5 hours by car.

As you arrive in Nam Định, you'll be greeted by a vast province covering approximately 1,669 km², stretching along 74 km of coastline. This land is not just comprised of low-lying plains but also boasts large rivers and coastal areas that are home to many migratory bird species.

The name Nam Định has ancient roots, with traces of prehistoric humans discovered through stone tools. During the feudal period, it was governed by dynasties such as the Hùng Kings and was organized into four districts and one city.

Notably, Nam Định is the birthplace of Trần Hưng Đạo, the famous national hero who defeated the Mongol invaders in the 13th century. With a rich history, Nam Định is also renowned as the birthplace of Vietnam's iconic dish—pho.
