Today, I'm excited to share my experience with a burger that took New York by storm last summer from the restaurant One White Street. Everyone who has tried it raves about it being the best burger in the city. While this fast-food-style burger looks simple — just two thin patties nestled between sesame buns with a few slices of onion and sauce — every component is meticulously crafted in the kitchen of this Tribeca gem.

Speaking of the patty, it’s made from various cuts of Wagyu beef, ground fresh right in the restaurant and formed to perfection. Chef Galen Kennemer even recommends pairing it with a side of fries sprinkled with chili powder and a dip of Sriracha. It’s absolutely delicious!

Discovering a Michelin Green Star Eatery

But don’t think that the burger is the only reason to visit One White Street. This restaurant stands out for its commitment to sourcing ingredients from its own farm, Rigger Hill Farms. They exclusively use seasonal products, ensuring the quality and freshness of each dish.

The roasted cabbage here is also a star, thanks to a unique char-grilling technique that brings out an incredible flavor. The juice from the roasted cabbage serves as a sauce for the Colorado lamb neck, which is marinated for two days with salt, brown sugar, and black pepper, then slow-cooked in the cabbage juice.

The Duck and the Story Behind It

Another standout dish you can’t miss is the duck from the Hudson Valley. The duck is dried for two weeks before being transformed into various dishes, such as duck leg braised with beans, reminiscent of the classic French cassoulet. The beans are soaked until soft, cooked with spices, and prepared to delight diners.
