This past summer, I had an unforgettable trip to the Lòng Sông Valley, nestled between the highland mountains and the central coast. The river flows through lush green valleys, bathed in the radiant sunshine of the South. The scenery is so tranquil that all you can hear is the rustle of leaves, the gentle babbling of water, and the sweet songs of birds in the serene atmosphere.
The Road Less Traveled
There’s only one beautiful paved road that leads you into the Lòng Sông Valley, winding its way from Phong Phú village to Phan Dũng. To get there, I started from the coast and rode my motorcycle for over 20 kilometers, navigating through dirt tracks in search of the perfect camping spot by the riverbank.
Untamed Nature
Upon arrival, I was awestruck by the pristine beauty of the Lòng Sông. The water here is crystal clear, flowing over smooth stones covered in vibrant greenery. The fresh, quiet air makes anyone who visits feel an extraordinary sense of relaxation. Camping under the stars, with no electric lights—just the moonlight and twinkling stars above—was a magical experience.

Finding the Perfect Campsite
Finding a good camping spot here can be quite the challenge, but the reward is definitely worth it. Using Google Maps, I searched for small trails leading deep into the forest and mountains. A motorcycle is your best companion for this adventure, as cars struggle to navigate the narrow paths.
Camping Tips
To ensure a safe and enjoyable camping trip, thorough preparation is key. The best weather here is from December to April, when the sun shines brightly and the skies are clear. From May to November, expect heavy rains and rising river levels, which can be quite dangerous. Don’t forget to check the weather forecast before you head out!
Activities Around
Besides relaxing by the river, you can also visit the Po Dam tower of the Cham people, located just a short distance away. Additionally, swimming in the cool waters or exploring nearby waterfalls are excellent options to consider.
Simple Living
As the sun sets, I sat by the river, watching the transformation of the earth and sky. The night sky here is stunning, unmatched by any other place. It’s during these moments that you truly feel the peace, far removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
