Easter Memories and My Love for Florida

Hello everyone! Easter is just around the corner, and I can hardly believe how quickly time flies. For me, this holiday is truly special, even more so than Thanksgiving or Christmas. As a child, I spent this festive time in Florida with my grandparents, which is part of the reason why this place holds such a special meaning for me.

Every Easter, my family would travel from Cleveland down to South Florida, where my grandparents had their home. Over the years, they lived in several places but eventually settled in Jupiter, where I created some of my most cherished memories with Nonnie.

Unforgettable Summers with Nonnie

Each summer, Nonnie and I would have a week together, just the two of us. I always looked forward to this time. We often went out for brunch, indulged in shopping sprees, and then took a break at a cozy café since Nonnie loved her lunches. After our meals, she would usually take a little nap while I relaxed a bit.

Before dinner, we would set up a little cheese board as an appetizer. I’d sip orange juice from a fancy cocktail glass while Nonnie enjoyed her chardonnay. The highlight of our dinners was always when I requested to dine outdoors.

Easter Memories

Aside from our meals, Easter was filled with joyful moments. Nonnie and I would make chocolate bunnies, and my mom would prepare baskets filled with the sweetest candies, and together we would hunt for hidden eggs.

There were even years when Nonnie baked a bunny cake. Now that I’m grown up, I still cherish this festive spirit as much as I did back then. Every year, I help my mom prepare the Easter baskets, and this year, I hope the whole family can gather together to celebrate.

Life in Austin

Alongside the preparations for Easter, life in Austin is truly exciting. The weather is wonderful, flowers are blooming everywhere, and the people here are incredibly friendly. Recently, the Proper Hotel gifted me a beautiful bouquet that I absolutely adore. I know I will miss this place dearly when I leave.

How about you? Is anyone traveling this month or just staying at home? What’s bringing you joy these days? I hope everyone has a fantastic spring and a joyful Easter celebration.

Things I Love

First up are the Smythson notebooks. Their new spring collection has me smitten with its vibrant colors and playful fruit designs. I just received the Apple Chelsea notebook themed around Panama Fruits, and it’s absolutely adorable. I always jot down my daily to-do lists in their Portobello Notebook.

For my outfits, I picked out a long-sleeve tee from Zara, paired with high-waisted jeans for a cute weekend look. Lately, I’ve also been enjoying the spring sales at J.Crew, which feature lots of beautiful items.

Art and Cuisine

Recently, I listened to a podcast called Life Awakenings, which was profound and relatable for many. I’m also enjoying my wonderful stay at the Proper Hotel in Austin, where they sent me flowers — nothing beats flowers and candles!

As for food, this week I tried Coop’s salted caramel sauce, and it was absolutely delicious. While editing photos, I’ve been revisiting Buffy The Vampire Slayer, my childhood favorite. Rumor has it there’s a new installment coming, but I’m not sure why it got canceled.

March’s Delicious Highlights

This March, popular dishes included garlic Parmesan roasted halibut and beloved chocolate oat cookies. Additionally, strawberry donuts and spring baking recipes have been quite delightful.

Travel and Shopping

Speaking of travel, I’ve noticed that Detroit is emerging with a lot of exciting things to explore. If you have the chance, be sure to check it out! As for beauty products, I’ve been consistently using YSE Exfoliating Pads and have found them to make my skin feel smoother.

Everyday Life

For my weekly meals, I’ve prepared dishes like chicken katsu, garlic butter roasted salmon, and homemade chocolate donuts. All of them are delicious and easy to whip up at home!
