Discovering the Scilly Isles: A Hidden Gem You Can't Miss
I never imagined that just 30 miles off the coast of Cornwall, England, lies a charming little paradise known as the Isles of Scilly. Renowned for its stunning natural beauty and dreamy coastline, Scilly captivated me from the very first moment I set foot on its shores.
Getting to the Isles of Scilly
Reaching the Isles of Scilly is quite straightforward. I opted for a SkyBus flight from Exeter or Land’s End, and within less than an hour, I was greeted by the beautiful coastline of St Mary’s Island. If you prefer a maritime adventure, you can take the Scillonian ferry from Penzance, but be prepared for potentially rough seas on windy days.
Visit St Agnes – The Southernmost Island
If you have a day to spare, don’t miss St Agnes, the southernmost island in the archipelago. After a boat ride to Porth Conger, you'll feel like you've stepped into a fairytale, surrounded by serene and enchanting landscapes. Be sure to stop by the Turk’s Head pub to savor delicious food while soaking in the stunning views of the British Isles.
