The Maldives is home to over 1,190 islands, making it a haven for diving and snorkeling enthusiasts. I had the incredible opportunity to swim with whale sharks, the largest fish in the ocean. They can grow up to 18 meters long, but don’t worry—they're gentle giants, feeding primarily on tiny creatures like plankton. The best time to spot them is between May and December, especially in the Alifu Dhaalu Atoll.

At Sun Siyam Iru Veli, you can book a shark swimming tour for around $376, which includes diving gear and lunch. While you might not always encounter the sharks, the surrounding waters are teeming with marine life, including colorful parrotfish, sea turtles, and even giant manta rays.

I had the chance to participate in a Coral Restoration project at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, where I helped restore coral reefs. Traveling to the resort by seaplane is an experience you shouldn't miss. From above, the Maldives' scenery is nothing short of majestic, with vibrant coral reefs and sparkling blue waters. As I soared in the seaplane, all my fatigue vanished while I took in the stunning landscape. Through the window, each resort stood out against the water, heightening my excitement for the adventures ahead.

Driving a Pink Water Car

At Sun Siyam, I also got to drive a pink water car, a fun and unique experience that’s perfect for capturing Instagram-worthy photos. This vehicle resembles a Lamborghini but operates with a jet ski engine and steering system.

I drove this car across the stunning blue waters, and it was an exhilarating experience. They offer a sunset tour for three people for $574, complete with drone footage and high-quality photos.

Floating Breakfast in a Private Pool

If you're looking for an unforgettable breakfast experience, try a floating breakfast in your private pool. This delightful meal includes pancakes, fresh fruit, and even champagne. We enjoyed our breakfast served on a heart-shaped tray for about $236 for two.

As soon as I stepped off the seaplane, I was greeted like a VIP with a flower lei, a cool towel, and the resonating sounds of Bonduberu drums. The walk to the reception made me feel special and happy, especially witnessing the warm hospitality of the Maldivian culture.
