Airbnb has unveiled a collection of unique experiences for soccer fans as part of the FIFA World Cup 2026. Discover exciting activities and opportunities to meet football legends.
Airbnb Launches World Cup 2026 Experiences
With the FIFA World Cup 2026 just weeks away, Airbnb—known not just for its accommodations but also for offering authentic experiences—has announced a collection of unique activities for fans. These experiences not only allow fans to meet football legends but also to explore the culture of each host city.
Train with Football Legends
Airbnb's experiences are divided into three categories: FIFA Fan Experiences, Adaptable Experiences, and Fan Meetups. Among these, "Train with Football Legends" stands out, offering fans the chance to receive coaching from Ian Wright, former star of Arsenal and Crystal Palace in New York, or learn from Christen Press, a star of the U.S. Women’s National Team in Los Angeles.
If you’re confident in your soccer skills, you can even join a real match with Bradley Wright-Phillips (New York Red Bulls) and Lloyd Sam (Red Bulls and DC United) at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, decked out in custom gear.
VIP Day with Soccer Icons
Airbnb also offers a VIP day with Landon Donovan and Tim Howard—two American soccer legends. Fans will have the chance to participate in a live recording and share stories about past World Cups with these icons.
Additionally, if you have a flair for fashion, another exciting experience is designing your own custom World Cup jersey under the guidance of an official Adidas designer.
Connecting Fans Through Unique Activities
The second theme of these experiences focuses on connecting fans with each other. In Miami, fans can join a cruise on Biscayne Bay, while in Los Angeles, a pre-game party awaits at Rossoblu restaurant.

In Mexico City, fans can attend a soccer viewing party themed around lucha libre, or participate in a meetup at Soccerroof in New York.
Explore and Connect with Local Culture
The final type of experience in this collection aims to connect fans with the cities they visit. In Miami, you can paint a mural with renowned graffiti artist Quake at an outdoor art gallery, or design World Cup-inspired sneakers with an Adidas designer in Brooklyn.
In Mexico City, explore the archives of architect Estadio Azteca or play fut-tennis with football star Fer Piña.
Exclusive Airbnb Experience: Meet Rio Ferdinand
All of Airbnb's World Cup experiences are one-day events, except for one special event—the "Ultimate Quarterfinal Experience." Lucky fans will have the chance to join Manchester United superstar Rio Ferdinand in Los Angeles for four days tied to the World Cup quarterfinals. This experience package includes a stay at a private Airbnb with a personal chef, match tickets, and other exciting activities.
Booking Information
Details about the experience with Rio Ferdinand are available online, with bookings opening on May 12 at 5:00 AM EST. There are only four slots for each booking, each accommodating two people, and they will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
For other experiences, details on availability, pricing, and timing will be released later. However, you still have time to prepare, as these activities won’t open for booking until May 20.
