Located by the North Saskatchewan River near the Petrofka Bridge, just 70 km from Saskatoon, Prairie Ridge boasts a remarkable setting. The accommodations are positioned away from the parking area, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the tranquil surroundings of the forest. If you don’t want to haul too much gear, you can use a cart or golf cart to transport your belongings. The walk from the parking lot to the furthest accommodations is about 800 meters, making for a memorable experience.

Exciting Activities at Prairie Ridge

I planned to spend my time relaxing at the resort and enjoying the amenities. My favorite part was the experience of sauna sessions in a wooden barrel sauna, especially in the evenings when the weather was cool. The outdoor shower was another highlight, giving off Bali vibes. If you visit, don’t forget to set up a campfire by the river with the special fire pits available.

There are also 3 km of walking trails for you to explore, meandering through small streams and maple trees. If you’re a birdwatching enthusiast, this is the perfect spot to observe a variety of unique bird species. Additionally, if you enjoy reading like I do, be sure to seek out the small, mysterious library on the property!

Culinary Delights Near Prairie Ridge Resort

At Prairie Ridge, you can cook for yourself using the available BBQ equipment or whip up some snacks like sausages and marshmallows over the fire. However, there’s no need to bring all your food with you, as the Rivers of Life café right at the entrance offers delicious options like Doukhobor bread, crispy paninis, and borscht soup. And don’t forget to treat yourself to a scoop of ice cream on a hot summer day!

On your way along Highway 12 near Martensville, you’ll have the chance to visit the province's first dairy farm, where you can get fresh, pasteurized milk straight from the source. This is definitely an experience not to be missed, especially for those who appreciate quality local products.
