In July 2025, Virgin Atlantic announced its plans to implement Starlink Wi-Fi alongside upgrades to its Boeing 787 cabins. Recently, the airline revealed that it would accelerate the rollout of this service, which is fantastic news for travelers.
Deal with SpaceX
Virgin Atlantic has signed an agreement with SpaceX to provide Starlink Wi-Fi across its entire fleet. Notably, members of the Flying Club loyalty program (which is free to join) will enjoy complimentary access to Starlink Wi-Fi, allowing connectivity on multiple devices like laptops, tablets, and smartphones.

Quick Installation Process
One of the great things about Starlink is its quick installation process once an aircraft is certified for the service. Virgin Atlantic's Customer Director, Juha Jaervinen, stated: "We are the first airline in the UK to announce free Starlink Wi-Fi for our entire fleet, and starting in May, we will roll out this service for our customers."
Revised Rollout Timeline
Initially, Virgin Atlantic planned to start installations in Q3 2026 and complete them by the end of 2027. However, the company has expedited its schedule and will begin installing Starlink in early May 2026. All A350 aircraft are expected to be outfitted by early summer 2026.
Specific Rollout Timeline
In the latter half of 2026, all Boeing 787 aircraft will receive Starlink, with two-thirds of the fleet expected to be installed before the end of 2026. The remaining A330neos will be equipped with Starlink in 2027, completing the project.
Passengers to Enjoy Free Wi-Fi
This means all A350 aircraft (and possibly some Boeing 787s) will have Starlink before the first Virgin Atlantic plane is outfitted with the service.
