A stop at the Turkish Airlines lounge is a must during my trip to Bangkok via Paris. It offers a relaxing space amidst the airport's busy atmosphere, but is it truly special?

Journey to Bangkok via Paris

Not long ago, I took a flight to Bangkok with a layover in Paris, and before embarking on my journey, I decided to check out the Turkish Airlines lounge located at Bangkok Airport. While it may not be the most prominent lounge, it serves as a nice spot to unwind if you're looking for some relaxation.

Location of the Turkish Airlines Lounge at Bangkok Airport

The Turkish Airlines lounge is situated in the international terminal, specifically at Concourse D, on the third floor, right near gate D8. This area is quite convenient for many international airlines departing from here, so if you're flying out of Bangkok, you shouldn't have any trouble finding it.

Opening Hours and Lounge Access Requirements

This lounge is open 24/7, which is a notable perk since the Thai Airways lounge only operates for 21 hours each day. To gain access, you need to be flying in business class or be a Gold member of Star Alliance. It's also worth noting that the lounge is no longer accessible to Priority Pass members.

Interior Design and Layout

In terms of design, the Turkish Airlines Lounge in Bangkok features a spacious yet simple layout. Upon entering, to the left, you'll find a section with cream-colored leather sofas facing each other, along with some black leather chairs against the wall. In the center, there are dark dining tables with seating for up to four people.

There’s a bar area with tall chairs and a few other seating nooks. Additionally, there are small rooms for meetings, a work center, and a relaxation area equipped with chairs and cushions for unwinding.

Food and Drink Menu

The menu at the lounge isn't particularly memorable, but it's decent enough. I noticed a variety of soft drinks, tea, coffee, and fruit juices. Alcoholic beverages are available at the bar, but there aren't clear signs indicating the options.

The food mainly consists of salads, sandwiches, cereals, and desserts. There are also hot dishes like chicken soup, sausages, and fried rice. However, I usually avoid eating in lounges as the food can sit out for a while.

Restrooms and Other Amenities

The restrooms are located to the left of the lounge entrance and are very clean and tidy. There are also a few shower rooms, but I didn't have the chance to use them during this visit. A nice perk is that the lounge offers a free 15-minute massage service, though it's only available at certain times.

Conclusion

In summary, the Turkish Airlines Lounge in Bangkok is a decent place to relax, but nothing particularly memorable. Compared to other lounges, it's just a regular stop that provides a serene escape from the airport's bustling environment. While it may not be extraordinary, it at least allowed me to enjoy some moments of tranquility before my next flight departed.
